How can I best prepare for my Research Fair presentation?
We are excited that you have a project you’d like to share with others. We look forward to hearing about your research project in progress, an interesting thesis or dissertation, or a new methodology for conducting research in writing centers.
The Research Fair is a relatively new feature of the NCPTW and the IWCA conferences; over 70 students and professionals will present at two different times and locations. No other sessions are scheduled at that time. In that way, all of those folks attending the conference can make their way around the Research Fair, enjoy refreshments, and learn from writing center research that is being conducted all over the country. There will be power outlets but no Internet connection. If you plan to run a PowerPoint presentation from a laptop computer, you may want to bring an extra power strip or extension cord. You might need to download Web-based documents to show since there is no live Internet connection available. Each accepted presenter will be assigned a table at the Research Fair (approximately 6x3)
The Research Fair is a visual presentation of your research. You’ll be depicting your main points using graphics, photos, charts, and other media. But the visual display is not the only aspect of the Research Fair. You will be right there--with your display--ready to answer questions and engage with other conference-goers as they stroll around the Research Fair. Check out these
